Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday is the last sunday before Easter.  It marks the beginning of Holy week, and the day of Jesus's triumphant return to Jerusalem, where palms were laid in his path. Churches distribute palms or sometimes pussy willow on palm sunday, and these are what are used for the ashes for the next year's Ash Wednesday.

Holy Thursday

Today marks the day when Jesus had his last supper with his disciples.  Hours after the last supper, he was betrayed by Judas in the garden of Gethsemane, which lead to his arrest and crucifixion on Good Friday.

Pancake Tuesday

Today marks the day before the beginning of the Lenten period.  Traditionally it is marked with Pancakes an "clearing out the cupboards" as we move into the austerity of Lent. We celebrate this at Pre-School by sharing breakfast in our pajamas.  Look out for notices around this activity.
